To maximize the available workspace at my desk, I designed and 3D-printed a power strip mount.
I then prepared a design report to practice explaining my reasoning behind important design decisions,
demonstrate my competency in CAD and FDM 3D printing, and document the performance of this design
after one year of daily use. The report is designed to provide a brief overview of the project on the
first page, with additional detail available in subsequent pages.
This project was completed in August 2025. In May 2026, Section V of the report was updated to discuss
the time-dependent deformation observed after one year of use.
The case I use to store my clear plastic retainer had previously broken at its hinge and latch, so
I explored ways to repair and improve the design using my 3D printer. This project proved to be more
complex than I had initially anticipated, which prompted me to learn new techniques that I can implement
into future 3D printing projects.
Completed in July 2025.
